After Drake gave fans a shocking glimpse of his shredded six-pack over the weekend, a former Mr. Olympia has stepped up and offered to help the rapper take his physique to the next level.
During a Tuesday interview with TMZ Sports, seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath volunteered to put the “God’s Plan” performer through a specialized training regimen to help the rest of Drake’s frame catch up with his surprisingly ripped abs—abs that had the internet buzzing.
While praising the Canadian superstar’s efforts to stay fit, Heath suggested there’s still plenty of room for improvement for Drake, who was recently brought onstage by country superstar Morgan Wallen during his “I’m the Problem” tour stop in Houston.
“People just focus on the abdominals and say they’re ripped, but then you can see back fat or a lack of definition on the backside, so I wish he would train with me,” Heath said. “Let’s get everything defined. If your abs are going to be defined like this, I want to make sure you have a little bit of chest striations.”
When Heath first saw Drake’s shirtless photo, he was impressed but cautious about the methods behind the six-pack. “I’m happy that he’s moving his body right,” Heath said. “I’ve seen plenty of rappers who struggle to stay in shape, especially when they’re on tour, partying, and traveling, but Drake seems different.”
If Drake were to accept Heath’s offer, the Olympia legend—who recently launched SVN X Labs, a supplement company tailored to athletes and fitness enthusiasts over 30—would want to prioritize blood work and other health biomarkers before focusing on sets and reps. “When people work with me, I want to make sure everything is being done at the top level, inside and out,” he explained.
Ripped abs notwithstanding, Heath pointed out some imbalances in Drake’s upper body muscle development. “Some people say the chest doesn’t look right, or the shoulders and lats are missing that definition, even though the abs are popping,” Heath observed. “If I were training him, I’d focus on rounding out those shoulders, building chest striations, and making sure everything moves well together when he moves. It’s about complementing the abs, not just focusing on them.” He also emphasized Drake’s tall stature and suggested developing the upper chest to enhance his look, especially for wearing styles like V-necks.
Equally important, Heath says, is understanding Drake’s overall fitness regimen. Not only could this help build an Olympia-level physique, but it could serve as motivation for others on similar journeys. “I’d love to see how he’s training and eating daily,” he said. “That kind of openness could inspire other rappers and adults to get in shape. Without it, people are quick to assume performance-enhancing drugs or surgery, which may not be the case.”
