Brantley Gilbert’s ‘Dirty South’ Bull Charges Into PBR Spotlight

Brantley Gilbert is perhaps most known for his top country hits such as high-energy anthem “Dirty South.” Now the country superstar has introduced a new rodeo bull— aptly named.  The badass bovine recently made its debut in the Professional Bull Riders League, ridden by PBR two-time world finals qualifier Paulo Eduardo Rossetto of the Missouri Thunder.

“Let me introduce y’all to our new bull “Dirty South” 🔥… He’s mean, but what a ride by Paulo Eduardo Rossetto, breaking him in! 🤘” the singer posted on his Instagram account recently.

Riding the bull for the first time, Rossetto held tight for the full eight seconds, earning a score of 87.75—proving that “Dirty South” is as tough as his owner hyped him up to be. The acquisition of “Dirty South” by Brantley Gilbert, in partnership with renowned stock contractor Blake Sharp, is the latest example of the country music star’s passion for the rodeo business.

A lifetime fan of bull riding, Gilbert told Country Muscle Podcast host While backstage at Billy Bob’s in Texas, Gilbert says a chance conversation with a local cowboy quickly developed into an invitation to check out his bull collection. “We’d had different people approach us,” he says. “But, everybody wanted a pretty penny to get some skin in the game. This cowboy said, Man, you could, you could come in on up and coming [bull] that looks promising. And I’ll steer you right when it comes to that

Soon after, Gilbert and Sharp hooked up for his first major purchase: Mojo Bone.  “Mojo Bone is the man,” he says. “He’s a whole a** situation.”

Brantley Gilbert Is Bringing His Family Along for the Ride

For Brantley, though, it’s a family affair most of all. He’s taken his kids to countless rodeos, watching their excitement levels raise as “their bull” would get ready for its run. From the railings, his family cheers, feeling a sense of pride and connection that transcends the arena. “We’ve been able to take the kids to a few rodeos, and they get really excited. They can’t wait till he comes out… they know that’s their bull. And it’s been really cool,” Brantley shared.

What brings Brantley the most joy, though, isn’t just the excitement in the arena. It’s seeing his kids light up when their family’s bull charges into the ring. For the Gilberts, the world of bull riding has become something special—a way to make memories that linger long after the dust settles.

While the singer just recently released his latest greatest hits album, Greatest Hits…So Far, his sudden success in bull riding doesn’t mean he’s switching careers anytime soon. After getting up and close and personal with both Mojo Bone and Dirty South, Gilbert promises to only watch his guys from behind the chute and leave the riding to the professionals.

“Those guys have another kind of courage, and it’s it’s wild to watch in person, too,” he says. “You don’t realize how big those bulls are and how fast they’re moving. It’s been incredible.”
