5 Takeaways from the Kameron Marlowe ‘CMP’ Appearance
- Consistency Rules: Marlowe likes training year-round a muscle-making requirement. The singer tries to not let the grind of touring get in the way of making gains. “I’m doing about four days a week, and at 7 am every day I’m with a personal trainer,” he says. “So it’s strength training for three of those days, and one day is more of a cardio based, so I’m just trying to be able to run around on stage and be able to perform my top level.”
- Kameron Marlowe Is Pretty Damn Strong: Before music, Marlowe was a member of the four-plate club when it came to squats during high school and college. “My squats were pretty ridiculous,” he says. I was hitting 405 for four. On the bench, I could probably [now] hit 225 for five.”
- Kameron Now Relies More on Cardio: To maintain onstage stamina throughout his tour, Marlowe now incorporates a little bit more running and HIIT style workouts to Kameron relies on running and HIIT to build endurance for live shows: “I’m running like crazy, as much as I hate it. I’m doing a lot of sprints and HIIT training, so that I can keep my breath and be able to hold notes for long periods of time.”
- Golf Has Become a Means for Active Recovery: Like many artists, Marlowe too has begun adding golf to his offstage regimen. He says it helps him both stay active and manage stress: “I feel like when I’m on the bus—and we’re honestly kind of sitting around all day—I needed somewhere to go and something to do.”
- Meal Prepping Has Become a Major Addition to His Routine: Also an avid hunter, Marlowe oftentimes will pack some healthier meal options when he’s on the road, relying on the animal meat he’s hunted. “Trying to prepare my food before I leave for the road has been a game changer, just with the way that I feel before I go out on stage,” he says. “I’m eating more ground beef than anything right now, just because I’m trying to work through the amount of cow that we have in the freezer.”
