Unrivaled Taps Thorne as Official Sports Nutrition Partner

Unrivaled, the professional women’s 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, recently entered into a multi-faceted partnership with Thorne. The popular supplement brand was named the league’s Official Sports Nutrition partner. In addition Thorne will be the jersey patch partner of Breeze BC.

As part of the agreement, Thorne receives naming rights for the expanded player’s lounge at Sephora Arena and will supply NSF Certified for Sport products, which includes Whey Protein Isolate, Magnesium Bisglycinate, and Creatine in order to enhance fueling and recovery resources for athletes across the league. The partnership also includes in-arena visibility through displays and broadcast-visible signage.

In the supplement world, NSF certified can be considered an important standard. It’s a verification process in which product labels are tested accurately match what’s in the bottle. It also review toxicology to certify the safety of the formulation, and screens for undeclared ingredients or unacceptable contaminant levels. These checks are set to help ensure transparent labeling and contaminant-free products.

The collaboration between Thorne and the leaguewill extend beyond product support. Thorne and Unrivaled will build an innovation platform to pioneer research and product development in the underserved women’s sports science space.

“Unrivaled has redefined the standard of support elite female athletes deserve. Thorne shares in that vision, and the synergy is natural,” said Susan Borchardt, Director of Performance and Recovery at Unrivaled, in a press release. . “Their incredibly clean, research-backed products will enhance our player care—together we’ll elevate performance, optimize recovery and promote overall wellness for the women of this league.”

Unrivaled launched in January 2025 with a new, player-owned model that offers WNBA players a higher-paying offseason league. Co-founders Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier established the league in 2024 to invest directly in athletes and provide equity opportunities. The eight-club competition features fast-paced, 3-on-3 play on a compressed full court with unique scoring. It is also broadcast on major networks such as TNT and truTV. During the recent offseason, the league expanded to include Breeze BC and Hive BC; Breeze BC features standout athletes Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, and Dominique Malonga. Unrivaled’s second season tipped off January 5.

Thorne, founded in 1994, develops high-quality nutritional supplements guided by clinical research and the work of an in-house team of doctors, researchers, and scientists. Thorne offers one of the largest NSF Certified for Sport product suites and is trusted by health-care practitioners, professional athletes, and teams for products tested for purity, potency, and efficacy. The company’s vertically integrated manufacturing in South Carolina underscores its commitment to rigorous standards and innovation in performance and wellness.

In a release, Thorne CEO Colin Watts said: “Unrivaled is raising the bar for women’s sports, and we’re proud to support that momentum. “Thorne is committed to providing athletes with science, innovation, and resources they need to perform and recover at the highest level. Our NSF Certified for Sport products are rigorously tested for purity, potency, and efficacy, giving athletes supplements they can trust.
