Did Brantley Gilbert just put down all of his weapons?
For a moment, the “Bottoms Up” singer had fans on the edge of their seats with a sudden announcement that he was about to ditch his weapons and embrace pacifism. However, if the song “Fighting Solves Everything” wasn’t a clear giveaway, the date on the calendar—April 1—certainly was.
“I finally realized that guns are dangerous,” he stated. “We’re actually going to try to find a nice, caring home for these. It’s time to put the guns down. Now, these things are dangerous.”
After a brief pause, Gilbert let the April Fools’ cat out of the bag: “Right, dude! Ain’t no way in hell I’m ever getting rid of one of these things. Number one, you’ll never find them. Number two, if you do, the only way you’ll get them off of me is when my dead cold hands are lying in a pile of brass smoke under me, you sons of b****es.”
While sure to ruffle some feathers (wasn’t that the intention?), many athletes and artists gave Gilbert a thumbs-up for his April Fools’ antics.
“Great shirt!!!” said UFC legend Chuck Liddell, followed by “Tremendous shirt, brotha 👊🇺🇸” from UFC fighter Dillon Danis.
Dylan Marlowe simply responded with a series of laughing emojis: 😂😂😂😂😂😂.
