Actor Chad Michael Murray has set his sights on creating a new and improved routine for 2026, starting with a revamp of his fitness habit. The actor and Hollywood heartthrob shared his ambitious body-shaping ambitions on his recent appearance on the “Like a Farmer” Podcast. Murray said his chief goal is “to get up earlier” and “start my day before everybody else,” with a focus on combining spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. “I want to be that guy that starts hitting the gym early and that all that’s behind me by the time the kids get up, so that I know that I’ve kind of started my day off right,” Murray explained.
To accomplish this goal, the Sullivan’s Crossing star it will require a morning reprieve from all things digital till the work is done. “You’re not allowed to look at your phone until you read the Bible,” he said. After beginning his day with scripture, he explains that he begins the morning with breakfast, some quiet time, followed by an intense gym session, he says he hopes. “Those days are far more productive than any of my other days,” he added.
Away from acting, Murray enjoys outdoor activities, including camping and coaching his son’s flag football team. “I love getting out there with the kids, build the cabin, do all that. That’s my peace,” he shared.
In addition to focusing on health, Murray is looking forward to new projects. “We just got Season four of [‘Sullivan’s Crossing’]. We just finished that in December, that’s coming down the line,” he said, indicating he plans on taking a brief break to spend time with family before future roles.
Chad Michael Murray’s Lifelong Devotion to the Bills
In addition to his training challenges for the 2026, another goal for the actor is to see his beloved Buffalo Bills return to the Super Bowl—and this time hoist the Lombardi trophy. Growing up in Buffalo, Murray recounts his earliest memories and the life lessons he learned as a Bills fan. “This is as blue collar as it gets,” he says. “You get up and put your big boy pants on, you go to work… and that’s what my dad did,” Murray said, crediting those values for shaping his mentality as a fan and in life.
His relationship with the Bills is marked by both joy and heartbreak. Murray recalled the thrill of the team’s famous comeback against the Houston Oilers in the 1993 AFC playoff matchup when he was 1o. “Me and my brothers went nuts, man,” he recalls. “We’re outside in our boxers, just going crazy in the snow. That was cool.” However, he has endured his share of disappointment, including 2022’s painful “13 seconds” loss to the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. “I just was crushed, man,” he recalled. I can’t imagine what the guys felt that day.”
Murray describes himself as a “realist” about the Bills’ Super Bowl chances this year, as they prepare for the top-seeded Denver Broncos this Saturday. “Do I think they can win it? I don’t know. Depends on who we’re playing. Can they? Yeah, of course, they can.”
