Ernest is taking on an ambitious wellness goal: losing 30 pounds in 120 days through a strict plan dubbed the “Train Nutrition Mentality” (TNM). A week into the challenge, the singer confidently boasted in an Instagram update: “I’m a week deep in this b**ch. I’m eating a lot of protein, and I’m not eating many carbs—well, not zero carbs, so don’t freak out.”
He claims inspiration came from Kyle from the Nelk Boys, Ernest kicked off his journey with enthusiasm, relaying his progress via social media and motivating fans to join him in his pursuit of health. In typical ERNEST fashion, he’s keeping the journey humorous. And the responses encouraging him have been through the roof.
Country superstar Jason Aldean was psyched for his pal, posting in the comments section: “Feel the bERN! 😂,”
Ivanka Trump also chimed in with her words of support to the “Would If I Could” singer: “I love that you are doing this !! Awesome Ernest 🦾🦾”

Shredding in Time for the Summer Tour
His weight loss endeavor comes at a notable time. With a summer full of festivals, he goes on tour mid August with Lainey Wilson.
As part of his regimen, Ernest has been keeping fans up to date, sharing his meals and workouts online. On Sunday, before the Nashville 500, he posted a video of himself doing pushups and enjoying a dinner of chicken and broccoli. His approach appears grounded in a practically paleo diet, with an emphasis on high protein and minimal carbohydrates—around 2,500 calories daily, he says.
Despite feeling the temptations of unhealthy foods—“Oh, I would love a freezing cold beer, a cheeseburger, and even a slice of pizza,” he admitted—Ernest remains committed. So far, he’s been creative with meal substitutes, opting for healthier options like avocados, blueberries, and nuts. To top it off, ERNEST is relying on hydration to get through the process. “We’re going to chug some waters, ice, cold, crispy water,” he says proudly.
Ernest’s regime includes rigorous workouts six to seven times a week, focused on enhancing his physical fitness while shedding pounds. “I’m going to kick my own ass,” he said, emphasizing his accountability system. While the goal is losing weight, he plans making some additions to his appearance. “By the end of this, my beard’s gonna be long, and I bet I’ll be 30 pounds down,” he voiced.
