Whiskey Myers Just Dropped ‘Whomp Whack Thunder,’ Set to Perform Ahead of Packers-Cowboys

Whiskey Myers has just dropped their seventh studio album, Whomp Whack Thunder, and the music world is already buzzing. Rolling Stone already hailed it as “their most supercharged album yet,”

“We were just a band. Really, we’re a road band. We did it the old school way: played every bar, every night and cut our teeth,” says frontman Cody Cannon, reflecting on the group’s relentless work ethic. “It builds character, hones your skill and gets some grit on you.” That grit has paid off: Whiskey Myers has topped Billboard’s Country Albums chart, hit No. 2 on Active Rock, and amassed over 4.1 billion global streams and nine RIAA certifications.

For Whomp Whack Thunder, the band teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce, embracing a spontaneous, in-the-moment approach. The result is a lean, hard-hitting collection that Cannon describes as “the story of a moment we’re in,” filled with reflective lyrics and explosive musicianship. Guitarist John Jeffers adds, “The emotions here are all different, but we really want people to feel all of it – and that’s rock and roll. People have forgotten what rock and roll is: blues-based, some country to it, but coming hard.”

On Sunday, At Dallas’ AT&T Stadium, the band showcases their new hits right before kickoff of the Packers-Cowboys match, featuring the return of former Dallas defensive end Micah Parsons.

With standout tracks like “Time Bomb,” “Tailspin,” and “I Got To Move,” the band as well as critics believe this latest drop solidifies its reputation as one of America’s most dynamic live acts. As the band continues its What We Were Born To Do Tour and prepares for headline festival appearances, the release of  Whomp Whack Thunder proves that Whiskey Myers is still riding high and continue to shatter country rock boundaries.
