Country hitmaker Tucker Wetmore just went three-for-three at country radio, as his latest single “Brunette” tops both the Mediabase Country and Billboard Country Airplay charts this week. It’s his fastest-rising radio single yet and his third consecutive No. 1, following “Wind Up Missin’ You” (Dec. 2024) and “3,2,1” (Jan. 2026), placing him in rare company among country artists whose first three singles have all reached the summit.
The milestone caps a high-profile run for Wetmore, who recently took home New Male Artist of the Year at the 61st ACM Awards and delivered a high-energy performance of “Brunette” on the broadcast. Billboard praised his set, calling his performance “the charisma of an arena headliner.” Written by Chris LaCorte, Chase McGill, Josh Miller, and Blake Pendergrass, “Brunette,” which was the No. 1 most added song on country radio several months back, has already surpassed 300 million global streams.
Backed by Back Blocks Music/MCA/Mercury Records, Wetmore, a former college wide receiver, has quickly become one of country’s most impactful new voices. His debut album What Not To became the biggest country album from a new artist in 2025, bowing at No. 15 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and pushing his career streams past 2.4 billion.
Raised in Kalama, Washington, Wetmore turned to songwriting after a college football injury and moved to Nashville in 2020. He broke through with back-to-back Platinum “Wine Into Whiskey” and 2x Platinum debut No. 1 “Wind Up Missin’ You,” and has since logged major tours with Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Jordan Davis, Thomas Rhett, HARDY, and Brooks & Dunn.
Next up, Wetmore returns to Nashville’s CMA Fest for a Nissan Stadium set on Thursday, June 4, then launches the second leg of his sold-out Brunette World Tour later this summer with dates across the U.S., U.K., and Europe. With three No. 1 singles, major award recognition, and a growing international fan base, he continues to look, as Billboard put it, “on the doorstep of true stardom.”
